Gummu (sword dance) sword

A Haidong Gumdo customer requested us to create twin swords that will be used for sword dance (gummu) practices and competitions. We designed and created these two beautiful swords for her to her delights.

The handle and scabbards are finished with brown ricepaper lacquer, with golden butterfly inlays. The inlays were sent to us by the customer. We intentionally did not put the hand guard because sword dancers has to change the gripping often from forward to backward during their peformance.
